Photojournalist Ami Vitale hits the Bay Area on February 22nd, 2008 for the opening of her photo show at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and a two-day workshop organized by Fotovision.
Vitale is an award winning freelancer based in New Delhi. Among other honors she has received a Magnum Inge Morath Grant and the Canon Female Journalist Grant. Her work has been published and exhibited internationally.

Amy Vitale is an independent journalist based in New Delhi, India. Her photography and stories from events in Europe, The Middle East and Africa have appeared in publications including Time, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, BusinessWeek, The Guardian, The Telegraph Sunday Magazine, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Financial Times, and MSNBC, among others. Ms. Vitale has won numerous awards for her work, including Magazine Photographer of the year, National Press Photographers Association.
