Tutorial: PS Adding Realistic Drop Shadows

Today in my Photoshop class we discussed adding a realistic drop shadow to objects and placing the objects into a scene. There are two shadows an “anchor” and a “cast shadow”. We also discussed adding finalized burning and dodging as well as grain and using smart objects. Correction: Some drop shadows are from lighting set ups in the studio. When the background is dropped out, the are preserved and “tweaked” to be natural looking – often times this is more desirable than one that is digitally manufactured.
